A great event of the Celebration is the art show. It brings out not just the creativity of a person, but their own expression of Texas.

“Happy Birthday Texas”
Teachers are encouraged to suggest topics using the Social Studies Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills. Suggested topics could include people, places, events, symbols etc.
Any two dimensional media is acceptable including collages (e.g. oil, acrylic, tempera, crayon, marker, pencil, pen, paint, water color, pastel, charcoal). Artwork must be original and the sole work of the person whose name appears on the entry card.
All work must be no larger than 12x18 inches before matting. Matting and sturdy backing is advisable. (No glass frames).
Attach a card or some form of identification to the back upper left corner with the student’s name, school, and grade level. All work must be done by the artist whose name is attached to the back of the arwork. Art may be signed, but no other identifying marks should appear on the work until after judging.
Awards Assembly will be Saturday after the last Battle about 4:30pm and will be announced during the show. Participants are encouraged to attend. Ribbons and gift cards will be awarded to top entries in each category.

Removal of entries: Art teacher or parent must pick up their artwork after the show.
Decision of judges will be final.
